This is the first official post for the Real Food Lunch blog, so let me tell you a little about our little shin dig…
Who we are:
Real Food Lunch is a weekly program organized my Kansas State University’s ECM. More information about us and other things we do can be found here: http://www.k-state.edu/ecm
Our main goal is to provide a healthy meal in a community setting. With the world becoming much more fast-paced the quality of our food is suffering along with the socializing that use to accompany our meals. Meal time has always been an important part of every culture and it’s important to keep our face time with other people in a growing digital age. Our caliber of food is also of concern, with all the additives and hormones that are making their way to our plates, we’re going back to a more simpler time, when food was food.
A movement that’s on a roll and contributing to our inspiration is the Real Food Challenge, http://realfoodchallenge.org/ Here you will find all the information you could desire on this amazing cause. Another program that has set off our spark is Kansas University’s Veggie Lunch, a program that has become a legacy for their ECM. http://ecmku.org/veggie-lunch an array of student volunteers, an open atmosphere, and a crowd of give or take at least 100 people a week, it is certainly something to aspire to.
When is it?:
Real Food Lunch is held every Thursday at the ECM building from 11:30 - 1:00.
Where we are:
We are located at 1021 Denison across the street from the Engineering complex. If you’re still not sure… here’s a map.
